ACP, Inc. has an excellent opportunity available for a Design Engineer. ACP, Inc. is a division of the ALI Group and a leader in providing high speed cooking solutions to the foodservice industry.


Will be responsible for performing and sometimes leading mechanical design related activities including sheet metal design, air flow/fluid design, DFMA (design for manufacturing), FEA (finite element analysis) and plastics and solid modeling.


Will develop and modify existing designs through the use of ProEngineer; recommend design changes to improve product safety, cost, and reliability; perform FEA analysis for structural and wear components; design air flow systems to cool components appropriately throughout the product; design dynamic motion systems to meet product requirements; design structural components to comply with applicable codes and standards; collaborate with manufacturing in performing DFMA activity; assist in the development of FMEA documentation and action plans; create and modify specifications for new or existing high-speed commercial cooking products; assist in the creation and modification of product design drawings; assist in the development of critical to quality criteria; develop DOEs to test proposed designs; perform tolerance stack-up analysis of new and existing designs; coordinate product design programs from concept to production; create and monitor project timelines; assist in the development of prototype units; perform competitive teardown, testing, and other analysis; work with tooling and molding suppliers in the fabrication of designed parts; work with suppliers to incorporate purchased components into the product design and assist in the development of CADCAM programs required to produce prototype parts.


Requires BS degree in Mechanical engineering field with minimum 3-5 years of related mechanical design experience including sheet metal design, air flow/fluid design, plastics and solid modeling; skilled and proficient user of Pro/Engineer; ability to manage multiple large-scale projects; demonstrated superior communication, teamwork, and organizational skills; and ability to develop and meet project schedules and goals, along with contingency plans.
